The Fault in Our Stars - John Green

As a habit, i tend to jot down lines from books i read. For this one, i find the story really moving. However, after reading it, it somehow felt short. I just think the story isn't finished yet.

Anyway, these are the line that i liked. :)

I fear oblivion. I can be pretty blind to other people’s feelings.

I’m trying to observe young love in its many-splendored awkwardness.

From hideous romance to prentious fiction to poetry.

There were always more bad guys to kill and more good guys to save. New wars started even before the old ones are won. It was exciting to live again in an infinite fiction.

That’s the thing about pain… It demands to be felt.

I‘m in love with you, and I‘m not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I‘m in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we‘re all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we‘ll ever have, and I am in love with you.

I think forever is an incorrect concept. You are an incorrect concept.

The world is not a wish-granting factory.

Some infinities are bigger than other infinities.

It‘s hard as hell to hold on to your dignity when the risen sun is too bright in your losing eyes.

Writing does not resurrect. It buries.

Pain is like fabric: The stronger it is, the more it‘s worth .

Grief does not change you. It reveals you.

Almost everyone is obsessed with leaving a mark upon the world. Bequeathing a legacy. Outlasting death. We all want to be remembered. I do, too. That‘s what bothers me most, is being another unremembered casualty in the ancient and inglorious war against disease.
I want to leave a mark.
